Course Description

​

The House of Worship Safety Team Firearm Qualification Course is designed to equip and qualify members of house of worship safety teams for the safe and effective use of firearms in defensive situations.

 

This course focuses on preparing individuals who carry or intend to carry firearms as part of their role in ensuring the safety of their congregation, with an emphasis on responding to active shooter or mass shooter threats within a worship environment.

 

Course Objectives:

- Qualify team members for the safe and responsible use of firearms in defensive contexts on house of worship property.

- Review and practice essential shooting fundamentals, with a focus on real-world defensive scenarios.

- Provide training on responding to active or mass shooter threats in a worship environment, enhancing preparedness and rapid response. Improve firearm proficiency to meet qualification standards for safety team members.

- Review and apply shooting fundamentals, including drawing and shooting from the holster.

- Understand the techniques specific to Inside Waistband (IWB) and Outside Waistband (OWB) holster use.

- Practice and refine drawing and reholstering skills in a controlled, safe environment.

- Enhance speed and accuracy when shooting from the holster for self-defense situations.

 

This course combines practical skills and scenario-based training to ensure your team is prepared for any potential threat while maintaining a safe worship environment.
